About Me

 

Welcome to my website! My name is Monaco.

 

I have been a costumer for over 8 years, and am still counting!

 

I continue to sew and source costumes for various occasions throughout the last few years for personal projects, rather than for film or theater, due to taking on the role of a full time wife and mother. I enjoy being creative and being able to use my skills for everyday life. 

 

I was previously with Rebecca Page Patterns as a Brand Ambassador after having my first child, and continued until I had my second child. I have had a lovely career in film as a costumer, and will continue that adventure in the later future. I grew up having a passion for art, which led me to adore and even recreate the costumes I'd see in movies. I chose costuming for its diversity, as every movie is unique.

 
Due to being homeschooled, I was able to enroll in sewing lessons at an early age. After sewing on my own for a few years, as well as working on a few local theater projects, I decided to enroll at the Center for Arts and Technology when they had the fashion program. I completed my Fashion Design and Merchandising Diploma in September 2014.
 

The following year I pursued and completed a hairdressing course, so I also have a hairdressing license. I have worked with wigs in past theater productions, and I enjoy the uniqueness wigs bring to both theater and film.

 

After gaining my hairdressing license and fashion diploma, I made the move to North Vancouver BC. I worked in the film industry from 2015 - 2018, and have IATSE 891 membership status. I've worked on films and TV shows including Star Trek 3, The 100, Timeless, and many more. I have done everything from sewing, to being on set. I'm always amazed by the exceptional teams that work on these projects!
 
I got married in August 2017 to my husband Charlie, and have since moved back to Kelowna with our children. We continue to enjoy and live life to its fullest! I welcome the opportunity to work on new projects, and I look forward to meeting you and making your next dream a reality!
