School Assignments and Projects 2012 - 2014
Here you will find some of my old school projects and assignments I did while taking the Fashion Design and Merchandising Program at the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna.

60's Modern Swing Dress
This was one of the first draping assignments I did. My teacher Suzy had us drape the dress with fabric that was similar to the real fabric we would be using for the final garment.
I chose this futuristic inspired graphic print fabric because I loved the colours. I paired this dress with heel-less high heels to create the final look.

Floor Length Skirt with Slit
Focusing on simplicity and elegance, my first designer skirt was floor length with a high slit that comes to just above the knee, making it a statement piece for any closet.
I put in darts to shape the skirt to the body and installed a regular zipper on the side to make it snag free.

Spring/Summer Golf Set
This was one of my favorite projects as I was able to design something related to active wear. One of the few sports I played was golf, so it only made sense for me to design the perfect outfit for it.
The skirt features a regular side zipper so that it's snag free while it boasts pockets big enough to hold an minimum of three golf balls, a phone, some tees, score card, keys, some change and credit card, as well as one of your favorite lip glosses. Built in shorts made with a stay cool fabric makes this skirt the most functional (and fashionable) skirt on the market, plus, who doesn't like pleated plaids?
The collared golf tee is made with the same stay cool fabric while also complying with the golf etiquette standards. What's unique about the shirt though is it's design, Altough it looks like a raglan sleeved shirt, The shirt has a side panel that comes into the sleeve to allow the maximum amount of tension used when swinging a club. I designed it like this so that there would be no chaffing on the under arm and no chance of popping the seams whilst playing the game.
DIY T-Shirt and Skirt
This DIY set was made from old T-shirts and a men's dress shirt. Two T-shirts were cut appart and made into the chevron scarf part of the neckline, then attached to the bright pink shirt for a unique look.
The skirt was made out of a mens' dress shirt utilizing the buttons on the front. It can also change into a a summer dress for at the beach with adjustable straps!

DIY T-Shirt and Gathered Skirt
This DIY set was made from an old T-shirt, a wedding gown, and skirt. The T-shirt was cut in the back and a ribbon was added to tie it up and make it adjustable. Lace from an old wedding dress was added as an accent piece to the back.
The skirt was made from a large pleated skirt. I unpicked the skirt and gathered the pleats in to the proper size and adjusted the pre exisiting waistband to fit a size 6 dress form. The results is a perfect outfit for any spring or summer occassion!
